Blue Print for Ending Violence
The Violence Prevention Collaborative conducted a series of Town Hall Meetings during 2008 in Boone and Winnebago Counties. The results are now ready for distribution and the beginning of the NEXT STEPS will be outlined at this meeting.
The Violence Prevention Blueprint for Winnebago County will be available for implementation by the end of September 2009.

The Violence Prevention Collaborative and the Rockford Not One Life To Lose project are participating in a joint venture to provide youth with knowledge and the tools to prepare a peace promotion media campaign to promote Rockford Not One Life To Lose project.
Short Term Goals -
Involve youth in an activity that will give them an opportunity to see how violence prevention media campaigns are developed.
Broaden their understanding on how much influence media can have on decision making.
Long Term Goal -
Giving youth a career related experience
Encourage critical thinking so negative or violent media will not influence their ability to make healthy decisions.
MEETING DATES:
Every fourth Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army-NCenter, 220 S. Madison in Room 212
CONDITIONS:
An ideal candidate shall be able to commit the time required for the Violence Enders;
An ideal candidate shall be able to provide their own transportation to the meeting locations;
An ideal candidate shall attend an interview before joining the Violence Enders group;
An ideal candidate shall want to explore a new way to make Winnebago County a peaceful safe place to live.
